Meet & Greet

Valet

Five-minute walk, valet prices kept just below full-on Stansted Valet

Meet & Greet at London Stansted puts you in the on-airport car parks a 2–3 minute walk from the terminal, but usually prices out between Short Stay and Mid Stay. It’s sold as valet, and you do hand over your keys, but regulars point out it’s not a kerbside handoff: you drive into the signed Meet & Greet zone by the terminal, park in a marked bay, and walk yourself straight into departures.

This is official airport parking, not a third‑party lot, and FlyerTalk users describe the airport’s own car parks as “good quality and safe enough.” One thread pegs Meet & Greet as the mid‑tier option in the price ladder: typically cheaper than full Valet, usually more than basic Mid Stay. Booking in advance online tends to knock the day rate down versus just rocking up on the day.

Process in practice: you arrive at the Meet & Greet area, park nose‑to‑tail in the assigned lane, drop your keys in a staffed office or key box, then walk the 2–3 minutes into the terminal. Behind the scenes, staff then shuffle cars around; some flyers say they’ve been told cars remain “on site,” others suspect a move to a mid‑stay compound based on how tightly the rows are packed.

Watch out for two things mentioned repeatedly in 2010s–2020s reviews: you must surrender your keys because of the nose‑to‑tail format, and a couple of FlyerTalk posters complain about small amounts of loose change going missing from centre consoles. Another common gripe: the name. Regulars call it “laughably named” because nobody meets you at the kerb; you still walk from the car park to the terminal like Short Stay users.

Most frequent flyers either pay a bit more for Short Stay and keep their keys, or lean on Meet & Greet only when travelling with kids, extra bags, or mobility issues to dodge shuttle buses. One recurring tip from Stansted regulars: if you want this style of parking, stick to the official airport‑run Meet & Greet and read recent reviews before you commit.
