Gate-side souvenirs in T1 without leaving security
Souvenir Shop sits airside in Terminal T1, handy if your flight leaves from the older international gates and you still need last-minute gifts. It’s a simple walk-in space, more kiosk-style than department store, and you’ll spot it along the main departures corridor after security checks. Think quick grab-and-go rather than deep browsing.
Stock leans heavily on Egypt basics: pyramids and sphinx figurines, fridge magnets, keychains, and small papyrus-style prints, all clearly branded for Sharm El Sheikh and Cairo. You’ll also see hookah miniatures and pharaonic statuettes on the higher shelves. Prices run tourist-side, with tiny magnets starting around a few US dollars equivalent, and larger decorative pieces going up notably from there.
Food gifts show up too: boxed dates, nut mixes, and branded local sweets that can survive a multi-leg itinerary. None of it is duty free, so don’t expect liquor or high-end cosmetics here; this is more knickknacks and snacks than a full travel retail shop. Card payment usually works, but having some Egyptian pounds or a backup card helps if systems are glitchy before late-night departures.
Stock can thin out on peak afternoon waves when several T1 flights bunch together, so don’t wait until the boarding call shows “final.” If you care about specific designs, walk past once when you reach T1 security, mentally note prices, then circle back after a bathroom stop to buy quickly and head to your gate.
