10–15 minutes by shuttle from Terminal 1
Remote Parking at Salvador’s Deputado Luiz Eduardo Magalhães Airport (SSA) sits off-site and runs shuttle vans to Terminal 1 in roughly 10–15 minutes, traffic depending. It’s clearly signed as “Estacionamento Remoto” on approach roads, so watch for that wording once you leave BA-526 toward the airport access.
This is an uncovered, open-air remote lot, better for short- and medium-term stays than for leaving a car for weeks in Bahia sun and rain. Spaces are standard width, not oversized, and you pay on exit at automatic machines that accept cards and cash in Brazilian real (BRL). Keep your ticket; a lost ticket fee is higher than the daily rate.
Shuttles loop between Remote Parking and Terminal 1 departures during core flight banks, roughly every 10–20 minutes in daytime. Late-night frequencies can stretch, so build an extra 15 minutes if you have a 03:00–05:00 departure. Drop-off is at the curb near the main entrance doors for domestic and international check-in.
Pricing usually undercuts the on-site terminal lot, especially once you hit the second or third day. Short stays under 12 hours can be close in cost to the main lot, but by day 3 the remote option often saves a noticeable chunk. Keep an eye on posted boards at the entrance; the tariff per hour and per 24 hours is printed there in BRL.
There’s basic lighting and regular patrols, but no covered pedestrian walkways and no indoor waiting area at the lot itself. Restrooms and food options are only after you ride the shuttle to Terminal 1. If rain is in the forecast, stash an umbrella in the car so the wait at the shuttle stop doesn’t soak you before check-in.
Tip: Snap a photo of your row marker and nearest shuttle stop sign before heading out; it speeds up finding the car again after a long return flight into Salvador.
