Daily rates here undercut the terminal lot at SSA

Economy Parking at Deputado Luiz Eduardo Magalhães International Airport (SSA) sits near Terminal 1 and targets longer stays with lower day rates than the main terminal parking. It’s an outdoor economy lot, so you trade shade and proximity for price, but it’s still close enough that walking time stays manageable for most people catching domestic flights from Terminal 1.

This is standard airport-operated parking, not a private off-site shuttle lot, so payment runs through the same official SSA system used at the terminal garage. You pay at machines or exit booths, with pricing scaled by the hour and then capped at a daily rate that’s noticeably cheaper than the premium spaces by the terminal doors. Keep your ticket dry; it’s printed thermal paper and the system at SSA still relies on barcode scanning at the exit.

Access runs 24 hours a day, matching the airport’s flight schedule, which includes late-night and early-morning departures. That matters if you’re parked in Economy and landing after midnight, because the pedestrian access routes and lighting remain active even when some landside shops in Terminal 1 close around 22:00–23:00. You don’t have to worry about a shuttle timetable or a last-bus cutoff.

There’s no dedicated staff patrol posted in one visible spot, but it ties into the broader SSA security footprint with cameras and periodic rounds, similar to the terminal-adjacent parking. Still, it’s an uncovered lot in Salvador’s heat and rain, so expect your car to sit in full sun for several hours. Bring a sunshade if you’re leaving the car for more than one day, especially in summer months.

Plan one extra buffer: build in about 10 additional minutes to walk from Economy Parking to Terminal 1 check-in, especially if you’re dragging checked baggage or traveling with kids.
