Next to T1 check-in, Coffee Bar is your quick caffeine stop
Right in Sofia Airport Terminal T1’s public area near the check-in desks, Coffee Bar works for a fast espresso before security. It’s landside, so you can meet arriving passengers or grab a drink while waiting for check-in to open for early-morning low-cost flights.
Expect basic café standards here: espresso, cappuccino, and long coffee, plus bottled drinks and small snacks. Prices sit in typical airport range, roughly 4–6 BGN for a coffee and more for specialty drinks or alcohol. Card payments are accepted, which helps if you just landed at SOF and haven’t hit an ATM yet.
There’s bar-style seating and a few tables around Coffee Bar, enough for a 10–20 minute sit-down but not really a place to camp for hours. Most travelers just down a quick espresso standing at the counter and move on to security for T1’s gates. If you need serious laptop time or lots of outlets, this isn’t the spot.
Food is grab-and-go: packaged pastries, basic sandwiches, and chips. Think functional rather than gourmet. If you want a fuller meal, plan to eat after you pass security in T2, or in the city before heading to the airport; Coffee Bar in T1 is more about caffeine and a quick bite than a full sit-down menu.
Peak times at T1 are around early departures for low-cost carriers between 5:00 and 8:00, when the line can stretch a bit and it may take 5–10 minutes to get served. Outside of that morning rush, service is usually walk-up fast and you’ll have no trouble finding a spot at the counter.
Tip: If your flight leaves from T1, grab your coffee here before security; once you pass passport control, options in the T1 gate area shrink and prices tend to edge higher.
