Visit Salt Lake

Near the Terminal central shopping area, Visit Salt Lake feels more like a small visitor center than a souvenir rack. It sits post-security, so you can pop in after clearing TSA and still keep an eye on your boarding time. Think maps, local merch, and info on what’s outside the airport, not just another generic newsstand.

Inside, you’ll see shelves of Utah-branded gear and Salt Lake City T-shirts mixed with magnets, mugs, and postcards in the $3–$25 range. Stock shifts a bit by season, with more ski and mountain themes in winter and national park items the rest of the year. If you forgot a small gift or want something that actually says “Salt Lake” on it, this is one of the few spots in the Terminal that focuses on local branding.

The shop usually keeps standard airport retail hours, roughly opening for the first morning departures and staying open into the late evening bank of flights. It’s on the main Terminal concourse rather than down a far pier, so you don’t have to detour to a remote gate area just to browse. Figure 5–10 minutes is enough to scan the shelves and still make it back to most nearby gates without stress.

Tip: if you’re choosing between grabbing a quick souvenir here or at a generic newsstand closer to your gate, hit Visit Salt Lake first; you’ll get something actually tied to SLC and Utah, then you can pick up snacks later near your boarding area.
