Short-Term Parking

Hourly

$5-per-hour garage parking that’s basically at the Terminal doors

Short-Term Parking at SLC is the Hourly Garage option at $5 per hour with a $40 per 24-hour cap, sitting in the main parking structure directly in front of the Terminal. It’s the move for pickups, drop-offs, or same-day meetings where walking inside with someone matters more than shaving a few dollars.

Stalls are on Levels 2–5 of the main garage, the same structure used by daily and premium parking, so the walk into the Terminal is just a few minutes via the enclosed bridges. This is all post-entry parking, so you pull a ticket or tap a card at the gate, park, then pay at exit based on the clock.

The pricing math: at $5 per hour, one hour is fine for a quick pickup at arrivals, two to three hours works for walking someone in and grabbing coffee, and beyond that you start creeping toward the $40 daily max. Past about eight hours, you’re effectively paying a full day to sit in the Hourly Garage.

Regulars on Utah forums say they often park here for 30–60 minutes to help family check bags or get through security, then head out as soon as the airline app shows “boarding soon.” They treat the garage like an extension of the curb, paying a few bucks instead of circle-driving the departures ramp for half an hour.

Watch out for delays: one missed text, a backed-up security line, or a late inbound can quietly push a quick stop into a near-$40 day. Set a timer for your planned stay plus 15–20 minutes, then start walking back to the garage when it goes off.

Tip: If you’re going to be parked close to 8–10 hours, run the numbers against SLC’s longer-term options before pulling a ticket here; the extra few minutes of walking can save real money.
