$25 a day buys you Lot E’s on-airport middle ground
Lot E sits about 0.3 miles from the SLC Terminal, priced at $5 per hour with a $25 per 24 hours cap. It’s on airport property and cheaper than the $40/day daily garage, but more than the $12/day Long-Term Economy lot, so it really is the in-between option.
This is a surface long-stay lot, not covered parking, so snow and summer heat hit your car directly at $25/day. The trade: you avoid the huge economy fields that sit farther out and usually deal with a shorter shuttle ride or walk, depending on how SLC is running access from Lot E at the time.
Pricing is straightforward: $5 per hour up to a $25 daily max, so short work trips or same-day returns don’t spiral as fast as the garage. Over a four-day trip, you’re at about $100 here versus roughly $160 in the daily garage and about $48 in the long-term economy lot.
Regular SLC flyers online say they usually choose either the garage at $40/day for covered parking, or they drop down to the Long-Term Economy at $12/day or off-site. Lot E tends to be the backup when they expect the main economy sections to be slammed on peak days.
Watch out for value creep: once you’re paying $25/day for an uncovered surface spot, a lot of people feel it’s not that big a jump to the $40/day covered garage, especially in winter storms. In hot July afternoons, that extra $15 can feel worth it if you care about your car baking in the sun.
Tip: If your trip is three days or less and weather looks rough, run the math between $25/day Lot E and the $40/day garage before you park; past about $75–$100 total, many regulars just move up to covered.
