Long-Term Economy Parking

Remote

$12 a day is the cheapest on-airport parking SLC offers.

Long-Term Economy Parking sits about 1 mile from the SLC Terminal and runs at $12 per 24 hours, undercutting the garage and hourly lot by a good margin. It’s a remote surface lot with rows marked and shuttle stops spaced through the area, so you’re not circling a structure forever looking for space.

A free shuttle runs between Long-Term Economy and the Terminal, but reviews say it can feel slow during peak times and late-night arrivals. One Utah forum regular mentioned factoring in shuttle waits plus loading kids and bags made it feel closer in time to off-site competitors than expected. Figure the shuttle plus wait can easily add 15–25 minutes door to door.

You don’t have to use the shuttle. A YouTube walkthrough shows that if you park near shuttle stop #2 in the long-term area, the walk to the Terminal clocks in at under 10 minutes. Even from closer to the lot entrance, you’re adding only about 3 extra minutes, using sidewalks that run through the rental car area straight to the main building.

Regulars treat this lot as the default for trips of about 3–7 days, saving the garage for very short stays or icy winter mornings. People who fly often try to grab a space in rows near shuttle stop #2 so they can decide on the fly: quick walk if the shuttle just left, or ride if they’re hauling big bags.

Tip: On arrival, check shuttle timing as you exit baggage claim; if the screen shows a long wait and you packed light, follow the signs toward rental cars and walk the 8–10 minutes back to your car instead.
