USO Lounge

Free snacks and luggage storage for military families in A

The USO Lounge sits in Concourse A on level three above the main plaza, and it runs as a low-key pit stop for active duty, reserve, and National Guard members plus their families only. Veterans do not qualify here, which surprises people used to other USO locations.

Access is inside the secure Terminal area of SLC, off Concourse A. Look for Johnston & Murphy in the main plaza, then take the hallway next to it to a dedicated elevator up to level three. If you’re landing into B, plan at least 10–15 minutes to walk over to A before you climb upstairs.

Food is simple but useful: packaged snacks, light bites, and self-serve drinks are standard USO fare, all complimentary for eligible guests. Don’t expect hot meals or bar service; think granola bars, chips, and soft drinks to tide you over between flights, not a full dinner before a 5‑hour leg.

One of the bigger perks is luggage storage for military travelers and their families, handy if you’re juggling multiple bags and strollers before a flight out of Gate A10 or A20. Regulars treat the lounge as a staging area to repack, feed kids, and reset for 30–60 minutes instead of camping at crowded gate seats.

Hours aren’t as long as airline clubs, and they can shift with volunteer staffing, so check same-day details before banking on a late-night stay after a 21:30 arrival. If you’re connecting through SLC on military orders, it’s worth building in about 45 minutes of buffer to stop here without stressing your next departure time.

Practical tip: walk toward the main Concourse A plaza after security, spot Johnston & Murphy on that central level, then head down the side hallway to the elevator marked for the USO Lounge so you’re not wandering around the A gates with bags and kids.
