24-hour lights stay on at Cakes and Bakes in T landside

Cakes and Bakes sits in the International Terminal landside at SKP, one of the few spots running 24 hours when everything else winds down. It’s before security, so friends and family can sit here with you even if they’re not flying. Think simple pastries, sandwiches, and coffee rather than a full meal, and set expectations at “basic airport café” level, not destination dining.

The café carries a middle-of-the-road rating of about 3 out of 5, which fits the reviews calling SKP’s food options limited and plain. Prices trend higher than downtown Skopje bakeries, as you’d expect in an airport, but still workable for a coffee and something sweet while you wait. One TripAdvisor reviewer even called out “Cake and Bake coffee” as a positive in an otherwise petite terminal, so the espresso is usually the safest bet.

Because it’s landside and open 24h, Cakes and Bakes doubles as an overnight waiting room for early Ryanair, Wizz Air, and Turkish departures out of T. People camp here with a laptop, plug into the scattered outlets, and ride the free terminal Wi‑Fi between 23:00 and 05:00. Seating is standard hard chairs and café tables, good enough for a few hours but not for real sleep.

Food-wise, stick to items that look freshly turned over: croissants, basic cakes, or simple sandwiches that obviously just came out. With limited competition among the four terminal concessions, nothing here tries to be fancy, and complaints tend to focus on food being forgettable rather than outright bad. For something more substantial than pastry and coffee, you’ll be better off eating in Skopje city and using Cakes and Bakes as a top‑up stop.

Tip: on an overnight layover, claim a table near a power outlet before midnight; outlets around Cakes and Bakes fill up fast once the last evening flights out of T start boarding.
