Terminal A’s Global Lounge runs on Priority Pass but no bathrooms
Global Lounge sits airside in Terminal A at SJU, past security and near the A-gates, and is run by Global Lounge Network rather than an airline. Access generally comes via Priority Pass and similar programs, so many AA and JetBlue flyers in A can walk in without paying a separate day fee through the door.
The key catch: there are no bathrooms inside Global Lounge, and staff point you back to the regular Terminal A restrooms a short walk away. If you like to stash your bag and settle in for 90 minutes, factor in that every bathroom run means grabbing your things or leaving them unattended in a small shared room.
FlyerTalk reports confirm that both airside lounges at SJU are run by Global Lounge Network, but this A-side one feels more like a holding pen than a flagship space. Regulars describe it as small and basic, closer to a quieter gate area than a full-service lounge with showers or work pods.
Food and drink are reported as light: think simple snacks rather than full hot meals, and standard self-serve soft drinks instead of a staffed bar with a long cocktail list. If you want a proper sit-down meal before a 3–4 hour flight, you’re usually better off eating in the terminal and using the lounge mostly for Wi‑Fi and a seat with power.
People who know SJU typically only use Global Lounge when their Priority Pass or other membership gets them in for “free” and they are already departing from Terminal A gates. They’ll tap in, grab a drink or some chips in 5–10 minutes, then head back out toward A-gate restrooms and boarding once the flight shows “boarding soon.”
Watch out for: if you’re picky about bathroom access or traveling with kids, the lack of in-lounge facilities is a recurring complaint and a genuine hassle. For a short 45–60 minute wait, the trade-off might not be worth the walk back and forth to the standard Terminal A restrooms.
One practical tip: use the Terminal A restroom before checking in at Global Lounge, then plan your stay so you can head straight from the lounge to your A-gate when boarding starts.
