Airline lounge

A · A4

Gate A4 sits almost outside this tiny Airline lounge.

At Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport’s Terminal A, this Airline lounge sits just off gate A4 and feels more like an overflow gate area than a full lounge. It’s airside in Terminal A, so you need to clear security first, then walk a minute or two toward A4 to find the door tucked along the concourse.

The space is very small by lounge standards, with seating that fills up fast on peak departures from A1–A8. Think short layover pit stop, not a place to camp out for three hours before a 21:00 departure. Regulars on FlyerTalk say they treat it as a quick sitting room before boarding is called at nearby gates.

Food and drink options are basic and match the compact footprint; expect simple snacks rather than a full hot buffet, and soft drinks instead of an extensive bar lineup. If you want a proper sit-down meal, you’re usually better off grabbing something in the Terminal A concourse before heading back here for 10–20 minutes of quiet near A4.

The biggest quirk: there is no restroom inside the lounge, confirmed repeatedly by YouTube and flyer reviews. You have to exit the lounge and use the regular Terminal A bathrooms near gate A4, then come back in, which gets old fast if you’re waiting through a 45-minute boarding delay.

Power outlets are limited relative to the number of seats, so don’t count on charging more than a phone or one laptop. Wi‑Fi runs through the same airport network you’d see in the main A concourse, so speeds depend heavily on how busy SJU is during that particular wave of departures.

Watch out for: full seating right before those banked departures around the mid‑afternoon and early evening. When multiple A‑side flights board between 14:00 and 18:00, late arrivers often end up standing or hovering for a seat.

One tip: hit the Terminal A restroom and buy any food at least 15–20 minutes before boarding, then move into the Airline lounge by gate A4 for a short, seated wait within sight of your flight.
