Tequila Town

Gate-side tequila shop in Terminal 2

Five minutes from most gates in Terminal 2, Tequila Town is the last big spirits stop before you board. It sits post-security in the main departures area, so you can shop after clearing Mexican immigration and security. Expect shelves dominated by tequila and mezcal, with brands you’ll recognize plus some regional labels you rarely see outside Baja California Sur.

Most 750 ml bottles run in the US$25–US$80 range, with premium añejos and extra-añejos going well over US$100. Prices are duty free style for international departures from T2, but not every promo beats US or Canada duty free, so it’s worth checking your home prices for the bigger brands. You’ll also find smaller 375 ml bottles that work better if you’re tight on carry-on space.

Beyond tequila, the shop stocks flavored liqueurs, mezcal, and a smaller rack of local candies and packaged snacks, all within the Terminal 2 duty free loop. Agave-wood gift boxes and logo shot glasses push things into souvenir territory, though those usually cost more than similar items in town. Staff often suggest the mid-range reposados as better value than the celebrity labels at the front.

Figure on 10–15 minutes here if you want to compare a few bottles and still make a boarding call in T2 without stress. One practical tip: keep your receipt handy, as some connecting airports ask to see duty free proof of purchase when liquids are in sealed bags over 100 ml.
