Gate-side burgers in Terminal 2
Right in Terminal 2, Carl's Jr sits airside after security and covers the basic fast-food craving: burgers, fries, and sodas before international flights. It runs through the main departure banks, so you can usually grab something between the morning US departures around 8:00–10:00 and the evening wave to Dallas, Houston, and Los Angeles.
This is standard Carl's Jr fare: Famous Star–style burgers, fried chicken options, and big combo meals with drinks pushing into the 150–220 MXN range. Portion sizes track with what you see in the US, so one combo is enough for a full meal before a 3–4 hour flight to Houston (IAH) or Los Angeles (LAX).
Expect typical airport pricing: a basic burger on its own runs less than 150 MXN, but add fries and a soft drink and you creep closer to 200–220 MXN. Breakfast sandwiches show up for the early departures before 9:00, so if you land from Mexico City on an AM arrival and connect out of Terminal 2, you can still grab a hot sandwich and coffee.
Food comes out fast; most orders land in under 10 minutes, even when two or three flights to the US board from nearby gates in the 20s. That makes it a safer bet than sitting down at a full-service spot when boarding starts in 35–40 minutes. Seating is limited to a small cluster of tables, so at busy times you may be carrying your combo back to your gate.
There are no standout “only here” dishes, so stick to core items like a classic burger, fries, and a fountain drink. Skip anything too messy if you board in the next 20 minutes; those burgers drip. One tip: order at least 45 minutes before departure if you still need to clear outbound document checks at the gate for US flights.
