Domestic JAL passengers in Terminal 2 get a low-key Sakura Lounge
This is JAL’s own Sakura Lounge in Sendai Airport Terminal 2, serving only domestic departures and quietly sitting off most lounge lists. Access runs to JAL domestic First and Business Class passengers, upper-tier JAL Mileage Bank elites, and Priority Pass cardholders on same-day JAL flights.
The lounge sits airside after security in Terminal 2, a short walk from the JAL domestic gates on the upper level. Layout is a single compact room with basic seating in rows facing the windows and interior, more like an upgraded gate area than a flagship hub lounge in Tokyo Haneda or Narita.
Food is minimal: expect packaged snacks and small nibbles rather than hot dishes or a full buffet line. Most reports mention items similar to rice crackers and light bar-style snacks, so eat properly landside at one of the restaurants in Terminal 1 or 2 before heading in if you want a real meal.
Drinks lean toward self-serve soft drinks with a fountain machine and likely a basic coffee setup, not a large bar with cocktails or multiple beer taps. If you care about specific Japanese craft beers or sake labels, you’ll find a better selection at the public restaurants and convenience shops in the terminals.
Services track the size of the space: power outlets along some walls and between a few seats, decent domestic Wi‑Fi similar to the main terminal network, and clean restrooms nearby rather than oversized shower suites. Seating can start to feel tight in the 17:00–19:00 evening bank when several JAL departures cluster.
Priority Pass access at this location applies only while flying JAL from Sendai, so a card alone won’t get you in if you’re on ANA or another carrier. Staff at the desk check boarding passes and usually verify Priority Pass cards with a quick electronic swipe, which still takes a minute or two during rush windows.
Tip: use this lounge for a quiet seat and Wi‑Fi within Terminal 2; grab proper food and any special drinks in the public area of Sendai Airport first, then head to the lounge about 30–40 minutes before boarding.
