Near Gate 5 in Terminal 2, this is ANA’s quiet corner
The ANA Lounge at Sendai sits on the 2F domestic boarding level near Gate 5 in Terminal 2, and regulars treat it as a simple place to sit with a drink before short hops. It opens at 06:35 and runs until the last ANA departure, lining up with the morning and evening waves of domestic flights.
Access skews heavily to status and business cabins: ANA domestic Business Class, ANA Platinum/Diamond/Super Flyers, and Star Alliance Gold members can enter on domestic tickets, and some Bronze members get in by burning 1,000 miles. Priority Pass also works here, but note the lounge is on the domestic side only, with no access from the international “kokusaisen” area.
Space is compact, more like a domestic business room than a hub lounge, and reviewers repeatedly call it a “simple business lounge.” Seating is mainly armchairs and small tables, enough for the ANA bank of departures near Gate 5 but not really built for long work sessions or layovers stretching past a couple of hours.
Drinks are the main draw: expect self-serve soft drinks, tea, coffee, and usually a few alcoholic options like beer on tap during operating hours. Food is minimal and closer to light snacks than a meal, so plan to eat in the main terminal or grab something near Gate 5 before you head in if you have a longer wait.
There are no showers, no nap rooms, and no dedicated business cubicles, a sharp contrast with ANA’s larger lounges at airports like HND and NRT. Power outlets exist but can be limited around peak domestic banks, especially around the morning flights leaving shortly after 07:00, so charge up at the gate area if you see the lounge looking full.
International premium passengers on routes like Sendai–Bangkok historically received a ¥1,000 coupon instead of lounge access, and several flyers complain about having to sit in the international area with no ANA lounge at all. If you’re on an international ticket out of SDJ, don’t assume this domestic ANA Lounge will be available to you even in Business Class.
Regulars with Star Alliance Gold or ANA Platinum/Diamond treat this lounge as a 20–30 minute pre-boarding stop: grab a drink, answer a few emails, then walk the short distance back to Gate 5 or nearby domestic gates. The most practical play: clear security a bit earlier than usual, check the lounge crowd through the glass, and only scan in if you see open seats with reachable power.
