T1’s True Star sits landside before security at SCL

True Star is in Terminal T1 at Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, so you hit it before security if you’re checking in at the older terminal. It’s useful if you arrive early for a LATAM or Sky domestic flight and want to grab last-minute items without committing to a long walk airside. Figure on adding 10–15 minutes to your pre-security buffer if you plan to stop here.

This shop leans into classic travel retail: think fragrances, cosmetics, and gift-type items rather than snacks or electronics. Pricing tracks typical international airport levels, so don’t expect big bargains compared with downtown Santiago. If you forgot a mid-range perfume or basic skincare, you’ll probably find a brand that works, but this isn’t a specialist boutique with rare labels.

Because True Star is in T1, it mainly serves passengers on the domestic and regional side of the airport, not the newer T2 international complex that opened in 2021. If your boarding pass shows T2, don’t bother walking over; stick to the shops near your actual gate area. With no strong crowd reports either way, treat it as a functional stop, not a destination.

One practical tip: check your gate assignment on the SCL screens before you start browsing at True Star. If your gate in T1 is above 20, you’ll want at least 15 minutes to walk back, clear security, and reach boarding without stress.
