Counter sits landside in Terminal T arrivals at SAW

AVEC Car Rental runs its desk in the public arrivals hall of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (Terminal T), so you sort the paperwork before you even think about security or departures. That matters if you’re picking up friends and want to hand off a car key straight off the flight. The setup is a standard counter with staff on shift during typical flight banks; think early-morning arrivals through late-night European turns.

Most rentals here use compact or economy cars from mainstream brands, with daily rates that often start in the €25–€40 range if you’ve booked ahead online. At the counter, expect upsell offers on insurance and car class. If you’re landing late into SAW on a Pegasus or AnadoluJet run, lock in the booking number in advance; walk-up pricing at the desk can jump significantly on busy weekends and around Turkish holidays.

Pickup and return usually happen in the main parking structure linked to Terminal T by covered walkways, so you’re not dealing with an off-airport shuttle. Figure 10–15 minutes from counter to driving out once the contract is printed, slightly longer in Sunday evening queues. Always photograph the car in that garage level before leaving, especially wheels and bumpers, and keep the fuel receipt from the last station on the E80 or D100 when you bring it back.

If you’re connecting through SAW and planning a same-day road leg to Bursa, Yalova, or the Asian suburbs, build at least a 60–75 minute buffer from scheduled landing to hitting the motorway. For early flights home, return the car at least 2.5 hours before departure; that leaves room for inspection, a quick walk back to Terminal T, and standard security plus exit passport control.
