Turkish Kitchen

Gate-side in T: Turkish Kitchen keeps things simple and fast

Turkish Kitchen sits airside in Terminal T at Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), a short walk from most domestic gates, and leans heavily on familiar Turkish comfort food. Expect doner wraps, grilled chicken plates, and simit-style breads rather than full table-service dining. It works when you have 30–40 minutes between boarding calls and want something more substantial than a packaged sandwich.

Prices sit in typical airport territory: think around 150–250 TRY for a doner or chicken plate and 60–100 TRY for basic snacks or pastries. Soft drinks and bottled water usually land in the 30–60 TRY range. Portions skew decent for the price, especially compared with some of the coffee chains scattered through T, so one main dish often covers a full meal before a 3–4 hour flight.

Food is counter-order, pay, then wait for your tray; there’s no table service. Most passengers grab a quick doner or kofte plate and eat at the nearby shared seating facing the terminal concourse in T. If your flight leaves from a bus gate, give yourself at least 25 minutes from ordering to being at the gate, as boarding for bus departures at SAW can start earlier than the printed time.

Hot items generally hold up better than pre-made options under the glass. Go for freshly sliced doner, grilled chicken, or anything they’re currently plating; skip wraps that have clearly been sitting for 20+ minutes. If you’re flying Pegasus and boarding from the high-numbered gates in T, factor in a 5–10 minute walk from Turkish Kitchen to the far end of the pier.

Tip: ask what just came off the grill and order that, then take your tray to the seating directly opposite Turkish Kitchen so you can still see your gate screens without relying on a single overhead monitor.
