Take Off

Gate-side in T, Take Off sits on the main departures concourse serving standard café fare and drinks to anyone already through security.

This is a basic airport bar/café setup in Terminal T with counter service, bar stools, and a handful of small tables facing the concourse. You’re paying airport pricing here, so expect coffee or soft drinks to land in the mid-range for Istanbul, and alcohol to come in higher than downtown Kadıköy or Taksim. Layout is open to the terminal, so you can easily keep an eye on nearby gate screens while you sit.

Food sits in the casual-snack lane: think sandwiches, pastries, and simple hot items suited to a 20–40 minute stop before boarding. It works as a place to grab something more substantial than a packet of chips but less commitment than a full restaurant in T. Turnover is quick during morning and evening banks, so don’t count on nursing a table for more than an hour during peak departures.

Drinks are the main draw: beer, wine, and standard mixed drinks, plus the usual coffee lineup. Expect the classic airport markup on spirits compared with what you’d pay in central Istanbul bars. Staff deal with constant traffic from international and domestic passengers in T, so service tends to be brisk rather than chatty, but orders usually come out in under 10–15 minutes unless your visit overlaps a big wave of flights.

Seating is exposed to terminal noise, with boarding calls from multiple nearby gates in T running nonstop. Power outlets can be limited, so don’t count on charging a laptop at every seat. Wi‑Fi is the airport network rather than anything custom from Take Off, and speeds vary a lot depending on time of day and how full the concourse is.

Tip: if your gate in Terminal T shows boarding within 30 minutes, sit at the bar facing the concourse so you can stand up and go the second your group is called.
