Takamia

Gate-side option in T terminal when you just need a seat

Takamia sits airside in Terminal T at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), so you’re past security and within easy walking distance of most gates. It’s a standard airport café-restaurant setup: tables in the middle of the concourse, open to foot traffic and departure screens. Think of it as a “sit down for 40 minutes, watch your gate on the board” kind of stop rather than a destination meal.

Opening hours generally track the main bank of departures, so you’ll usually find Takamia operating from early morning check-in times through late-night flights. Expect typical international-airport pricing, with simple coffees coming in higher than in the city and mains in line with other SAW sit-down spots. If you have under 45 minutes to boarding, this isn’t a fast turn; service pace matches a normal restaurant more than a grab-and-go stall.

The menu leans on familiar café fare: sandwiches, salads, and a few hot plates, plus soft drinks and coffee. You’re paying for a chair and table near your gate more than anything special from the kitchen. If you just want something quick, ask up front which items are ready within 10–15 minutes; leaving it to chance in a busy departure wave can cut uncomfortably close to boarding time.

Because there’s not much detailed feedback on Takamia yet, treat it as a backup plan rather than the core of your SAW food strategy. If your flight leaves from a remote stand, remember that bus boarding can start a full 25–30 minutes before departure, so don’t settle in here expecting a long, relaxed meal.

Tip: Grab a bottle of water and pay the bill as soon as your gate number appears on the screens; at SAW, gate changes inside Terminal T can still mean a 7–10 minute walk.
