Saudia’s international flights now run out of Terminal 4

Terminal 4 at King Khalid International Airport handles Saudia’s non‑domestic routes, separating them from the airline’s domestic flights in Terminal 5. The pier has 8 gates, so it feels smaller and more focused than the older Terminals 1 and 2. Lufthansa and Qatar Airways are listed for the building but most recent guides describe this as the Saudia international base, so check your booking carefully before you set out.

Terminals 1, 2, 3, and 4 link via airside walkways, so a Saudia passenger arriving in Terminal 3 on another carrier can walk to T4 without passing security again. Regulars say the walk between T3 and T4 is “straightforward” but not quick, so budget 10–15 minutes if your connection touches another terminal. If you’re connecting from a domestic Saudia flight in T5, you leave that separate domestic building and follow signs to the T3/T4 complex.

Blacklane’s guide calls T3/T4 the “newly revamped” complex, and it does look newer than the 1980s‑era halls in T1 and T2. Expect cleaner finishes, more glass, and brighter lighting than in the legacy terminals, even though T4 is not packed with extras. Seating clusters sit near the 8 gates, and power outlets show up in the newer seating rows, so look for the metallic column bases rather than the older benches.

Riyadh Duty Free is the main commercial stop in T4, sitting airside after passport control. You’ll find the usual duty‑free mix of perfume, chocolate, tobacco, electronics, and dates, with prices in Saudi riyals clearly marked and staff able to quote conversion into US dollars or euros. If you want Saudi coffee or dates as gifts, buy them here rather than waiting for a smaller kiosk at the gate.

Food options for Terminal 4 are thin in public listings, especially compared with T5’s domestic food court and the chains in Terminals 1 and 2. Plan to eat before security in the wider airport if you have specific dietary needs or care about choice. With no confirmed lounge list for T4, Saudia passengers with status or premium tickets sometimes walk over to better‑documented lounges in T3, then head back through the internal walkway once they’re ready to board from one of the 8 gates.

Regulars flying Saudia out of Riyadh treat the domestic vs international split as a pre‑trip checklist item. Guides spell it out clearly: Saudia and Flyadeal domestic flights use Terminal 5, while Saudia international flights run out of Terminal 4 and most other foreign carriers use Terminal 3. Before you book your ride to the airport, match the “T4” or “T5” code on your e‑ticket, then tell the driver that exact terminal to avoid being dropped 1–2 km away.

One last practical tip: if you’re connecting off another airline in T3 and your Saudia flight leaves from a far T4 gate, don’t stop at the first set of seats. Walk all the way to your actual gate number so you’re near boarding, then backtrack to Riyadh Duty Free only if you still see at least 25–30 minutes on the clock.
