Two desks and some plugs: that’s Business Corner De Horizon
Inside T1 at Rotterdam The Hague Airport, Business Corner De Horizon sits airside near the main gate area and feels more like shared office furniture than a lounge. There’s no staffed reception, no priority-card check, and no door to walk through. You just sit down at one of the few desks, plug into a power outlet, and work in the middle of the terminal.
This “corner” sits after security in the departure zone used by all RTM flights, so you’re already airside when you find it. Think a handful of workstations rather than a separate room: standard chairs, basic desks, and power sockets in easy reach. If you’re used to KLM’s Crown Lounges at AMS or BA lounges at LHR, set expectations way lower here.
There’s no food or drink included at De Horizon, so you’ll be buying your own coffee at the landside restaurant or one of the airside cafés in T1 and carrying it over. A cappuccino in the terminal usually runs around €3–€4, and that’s on you, not part of any lounge deal. There’s also no alcohol service, no bar, and no fridges of soft drinks in this corner.
Pricing is simple because there isn’t any: access is free and informal, with no need for a Priority Pass, airline status, or business-class ticket. If a seat is open, you sit. If it’s full—which can happen before the 07:00–09:00 bank of departures—you’re back to the regular gate seating. There are no time limits, but lingering several hours on a busy morning will feel awkward given how visible the desks are.
Facilities stay minimal. You get standard 230V outlets, overhead lighting, and the general airport Wi‑Fi that covers T1, which can slow down when multiple flights to London, Malaga, and Ibiza are boarding at the same time. There are no printers, no meeting rooms, no showers, and no dedicated toilets; you use the regular terminal restrooms about 50–100 meters away.
Use Business Corner De Horizon as a last‑minute email spot, not as a layover base. If you’ve got more than 60–90 minutes at RTM, buy a proper drink or snack elsewhere in the terminal first, then grab a desk here so you’re not up and down hunting for food once you’re finally working.
