Two minutes from T1 arrivals, your “parking lot” is the rental bay strip

At RHO T1, Rental Car Parking is basically the forecourt: you walk out of arrivals, cross the small access road, and you’re at the hire‑car rows in about 2 minutes. There’s no shuttle, no multilevel garage, just surface bays mixed in with taxis and buses immediately outside the terminal doors.

This is on‑site parking in the literal sense: standard rental bays sit in the same apron used by tour coaches and local taxis directly in front of T1. The cost is baked into your rental contract, so you won’t see separate per‑hour or per‑day parking prices here the way you would in a standalone car park.

Pick‑up is simple at off‑peak times: follow the rental desk in arrivals, sign the contract, then walk roughly 100–150 meters to the marked bays opposite the main exit. Travellers describe it as “step outside and all the hire cars are just across the road,” so there’s no hunting for a distant lot or waiting 10–15 minutes for a transfer bus.

Returns are the pain point. Tripadvisor reports note that during peak charter waves, the rental‑car return lane right in front of T1 can be partially blocked by coaches and private cars. Buses lining up for hotel transfers can squeeze the space for turning into, or out of, the rental rows, so a 2‑minute walk can still turn into a 20‑minute traffic shuffle in the car.

Watch out for: late‑evening weekend departures in July and August, when multiple flights leave within a 2–3 hour window and the shared forecourt clogs. Build an extra 20–30 minutes into your return time so you can creep through the congestion, hand back the keys, and still clear security at T1 without rushing.

Tip: before you lock the car, screenshot or note your bay number and company sign; in that tight apron of mixed buses, taxis, and hire cars, it saves a few minutes if staff ask you where exactly you left it.
