Bicycle Parking

Accessible

Bikes park free at RDM’s west end racks all day

Bicycle Parking at Roberts Field (RDM) is a $0.00 per day option, using outdoor racks at the west end of the main terminal building. It’s aimed at locals and employees who already commute by bike and are fine locking up outside with their own gear. Expect basic metal racks, not enclosed storage or lockers.

The racks sit roughly a 1-minute walk from the terminal doors at the west end, so you’re essentially as close as the nearest car lot without paying for a stall. Everything is terminal-side and outside, so you roll up, lock up, and walk straight into the building. No tickets, no gates, no payment machines.

This setup is accessible: the route from the racks to the main terminal entrance is flat pavement, and there’s no need to cross vehicle lanes far from the curb. RDM’s own parking info calls these “complimentary bicycle racks,” which matches what you see on the ground: open-air stands, exposed to weather, with no mention of cameras, cages, or staffed storage.

Regular bike commuters who use RDM often bring a heavy-duty U-lock or chain because security is entirely on you. People try to grab spots on the racks closest to the west-end terminal doors, where there’s a bit more foot traffic during the day. There’s no posted time limit on bike parking, but multi-day trips mean your bike sits outdoors the entire time.

Tip: pack your own solid lock plus a small rain cover or fender if you’re leaving the bike for more than a day, since the complimentary racks at the west end of the terminal are fully exposed.
