Tea House

T2

T2’s main Tea House sits airside, past security in PVG.

This Tea House in Terminal T2 is inside the secure zone, so you’re fine to head here after immigration and security instead of hunting outside. It runs on typical terminal hours, roughly from early-morning long-haul banks through late-night departures, syncing with the main T2 flight waves. Expect China Eastern and SkyTeam passengers to drift through, since most of their international and domestic operations run from T2.

Pricing lines up with Shanghai airport standards: hot teas usually sit in the ¥30–¥50 range, with some specialty or premium-leaf pots climbing higher. You’ll see classic Chinese teas like green and oolong alongside a few sweeter drinks targeting transit flyers who just want something warm before boarding. Card payment and mobile pay (Alipay/WeChat Pay) are widely accepted, which helps if your wallet is already light on cash after duty-free.

Seating here tends to be tighter than the main T2 gate areas, so treat it as a quick sit-down spot rather than a long work session. Noise is typical gate-lounge level, since you’re still within the T2 concourse stream and not in a separate lounge. If you have under 40 minutes to boarding from T2’s mid-gates, grab your drink to go instead of committing to a table.

Tip: order and pay first, then claim a seat; the smaller footprint inside Terminal T2 means tables free up fast and vanish just as quickly during the early-morning and late-evening departure banks.
