Lyft at PSP: curbside drop-off right at the Main terminal

Lyft runs fully at Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), with drivers dropping you at the Main terminal curb directly in front of the departures entrance. That saves a walk with bags in 95°F+ desert heat, which is common here in spring and summer.

For departures from PSP, set your Lyft drop-off pin to “Palm Springs International Airport” and the driver follows airport signs to the terminal building on East Tahquitz Canyon Way. You get out at the departures curb, less than a 2–3 minute walk from check-in counters for most airlines.

For arrivals, bags usually hit the carousel in 10–20 minutes, so request your Lyft once your flight parks at one of the Main terminal gates. The pickup zone sits outside the terminal on the arrivals curb, and drivers follow signs for “Ride App” or “Rideshare” along Kirk Douglas Way.

Pricing around town swings a lot with season; late January during Palm Springs International Film Festival or April during Coachella can push a 3–4 mile ride toward $25–$35, while off-peak weekdays often drop similar trips under $15 before tip. Always check the app’s upfront fare estimate before confirming.

Lyft runs 24/7 in Palm Springs, but driver density drops after midnight and especially between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. If your flight lands on one of the last arrivals of the night, expect to wait 10–20 minutes for a car instead of the usual 5–8 minutes seen on busy evenings.

If you’re heading to nearby resorts along East Palm Canyon Drive or Indian Canyon Drive, that’s usually a 10–20 minute ride from the airport, depending on traffic on Highway 111. Trips out to Palm Desert or Rancho Mirage often run 25–35 minutes and cost more, so watch the fare before you tap “Confirm.”

One simple tip: PSP’s curb can get crowded during morning outbound banks around 6:00–8:00 a.m., so add an extra 10 minutes to your pickup time in the app and meet your driver at the far end of the terminal curb, where cars stack less and it’s easier to spot your plate.
