Hamleys

T2

Next to T2 security, Hamleys is the kid-bribe stop

Hamleys in Terminal T2 sits airside near the Schengen departure gates, so you hit it right after security and before most food options. It’s a full toy store, not just a small airport kiosk, with branded Hamleys bears, LEGO boxes stacked to the ceiling, and candy right at kid eye-level. Figure 10–15 minutes minimum if you walk in with small children; they won’t want to leave quickly.

Prices run higher than Prague city shops, with many toys landing around 500–1,000 CZK that you’d probably see for less downtown. In return, the stock is fresh and well lit, and you can grab last‑minute gifts without leaving T2’s secure zone. Expect familiar European board games, licensed character plush, and a lot of plastic noise-makers that will irritate half your cabin if opened mid-flight.

Hamleys keeps airport-style hours, typically covering the first wave of departures from around 6:00 through late afternoon and early evening flights out of T2. Staff speak English and Czech, can remove packaging if you want to cut bulk in your carry-on, and usually have small under-200 CZK trinkets near the counter, good for topping up a kids’ travel reward system.

Plan your stop here before you promise anything in the boarding queue. The shop is just a few minutes’ walk from most T2 Schengen gates, but lines at nearby restrooms and cafés can eat that time fast. Set a hard deadline based on your boarding time, then tell kids they pick one item and you’re out when your phone alarm buzzes.
