Baggage Wrap

T1

Bags getting roughed up on long-haul? Baggage Wrap in T1 helps.

You’ll find Baggage Wrap in Terminal T1’s departure area, before you drop bags at check-in. It’s a paid kiosk that shrink-wraps suitcases in plastic film, mainly used by people heading on long-haul or multi-stop routes from Prague. One reviewer said they started wrapping bags here after luggage came back opened from a previous trip.

Price is per suitcase and several reviews call it “not cheap,” especially if you’re a family wrapping three or four bags. That said, others say the cost feels worth it for peace of mind on a multi-leg itinerary with two or more connections. You can pay by card, so you can keep your last 200–300 CZK in coins/notes for snacks or coffee airside.

Staff are usually quick: if there’s no queue, wrapping one standard checked bag takes just a few minutes. During morning and late-afternoon departure waves from T1, travellers mention lines forming and people watching the clock for their 08:30 or 18:00 departures. Regulars add 10–20 minutes to their pre-check-in timeline when they know they’ll use the service.

Frequent flyers say they mainly wrap soft-sided cases, bags with external pockets, or light-coloured fabric that scuffs easily, and skip it for sturdy hard-shell luggage. One routine: wrap the bag, then walk it straight to the airline desk within five minutes so staff can still see the tag and handles clearly. Plan your route so you pass the kiosk before you queue for check-in; backtracking across T1 with full carts wastes time.
