Gate-side in North Terminal, this “Trinidad Grill” is still a bit of a mystery
In Piarco’s North Terminal after security, signage sometimes points to a generic grill or local food counter, but nothing clearly branded as Trinidad Grill shows up in recent POS reports. Official info lists it as a local grill spot, open roughly 06:00–22:00, with a $$ price point and a focus on grilled Trini-style dishes plus the headline item: jerk chicken.
Figure on paying mid-range airport prices: think about US$10–15 for a plated jerk chicken with sides, a bit less if they’re doing grab-and-go portions in the North Terminal food area. Drinks usually push a meal up toward US$18–20 if you add a beer or a bottled juice from the same counter. Card payment tends to be standard in POS, but keeping a TT$50–100 note handy never hurts in case one machine is down.
If you see a board that actually says Trinidad Grill, the safe move is the jerk chicken with rice, fries, or macaroni pie; grills in POS often prep that in batches from around 11:00 onward, so earlier in the day you may get reheats. Skip anything that looks like it has been under heat lamps too long or comes out in under 30 seconds from order; that’s a sign it has been sitting.
Because traveler reports don’t clearly confirm this stand by name, treat it like a normal food court counter: glance at what’s actually on the grill and how busy it is. If trays are low at 14:00 but locals in staff badges are queuing, that’s usually a better signal than the name on the board.
Tip: land in POS hungry and short on time? Clear security into the North Terminal, walk the main post-security corridor once, and only commit to Trinidad Grill if you can spot the jerk chicken and see food coming off the grill, not just out of a warmer.
