Priority Pass Lounge

North · near Gate 1 Open · 24/7 50 seats showers Day pass $30

Gate 1 is your landmark for the Priority Pass Lounge at POS

The Priority Pass Lounge here is actually the V.I.P. Flyers’ Club in the North Terminal, sitting airside just before Gate 1 and up one level via the stairs or escalator to the right of security. It runs as a contract lounge for Priority Pass and some airlines, so you’ll see British Airways passengers mixed with cardholders on most evening departures.

Hours matter at Piarco: Priority Pass lists this lounge as open 05:00–23:30 daily, with an early close around 19:00 on Saturdays, even though airport signage makes it feel 24/7. If you have a late-night weekend departure, don’t count on using it after dinner time, and have a backup like Goose Island in the main concourse.

Access works through Priority Pass, Amex, or a paid day pass at about US$30, with a hard cap of roughly 3 hours per visit written into the program terms. Staff do check your boarding pass and lounge card at the small front desk, so treating it as an all-day office on a long layover at Piarco isn’t realistic.

The food setup is basic: think small premade sandwiches on plates wrapped in plastic, a few packaged snacks, and not much else, with no hot buffet at any time of day. Drinks are stronger than the food game, with a fridge of soft drinks and beers plus self-serve liquor on the counter, so it works better for a drink and nibble than for a real meal.

Layout is straightforward: two rooms, with a compact check-in and food area leading into a larger seating space holding rows of armchairs, a couple of desktop computers, and a wall-mounted TV that sometimes jumps to a loud volume. Regulars use it as a quiet waiting room with Wi‑Fi and a drink, then head down to the gate around boarding time rather than burning the full 3-hour allowance.

Facilities are thin: there are no showers in this lounge and FlyerTalk users confirm none anywhere in POS, so you can’t plan on a post-flight cleanup. The Wi‑Fi can be touchy, with at least one reviewer needing multiple connect/disconnect cycles to authenticate, and the furniture shows visible wear and tear from years of contract use.

Practical move: clear security a bit early, check if the lounge is actually open past 19:00 on your day, then scan the food spread before committing your US$30 day-pass fee; if it looks sparse, you may be happier taking that money downstairs to one of the bars instead.
