Airport Parking Lot

Surface parking

Daily parking sits directly outside Pune’s NITB terminal

The Airport Parking Lot at Pune International Airport (PNQ) is a basic surface setup right in front of the NITB terminal, so walking time from car to check-in usually stays under 5 minutes. It’s all open-air, with no height restrictions, which helps if you’re driving an SUV or larger vehicle. You pay on exit at the booth near the main driveway, and the ticket you pull at the entry barrier tracks your stay by the hour.

This is standard airport-operated parking, not a private lot, and it sits inside the main airport compound past the first security gate on Lohegaon Road. That means one stop for vehicle screening at the outer gate, then you roll straight into the surface bays marked for cars, two-wheelers, and taxis. Signage to “Airport Parking Lot” appears about 200–300 metres before the NITB drop-off loop, so watch the boards early to avoid circling back.

Rates at PNQ’s Airport Parking Lot run on a short-stay model for the first few hours, then shift to higher slabs once you cross into longer durations, so a 2–3 hour pickup or drop-off works out far cheaper than leaving the car for 24 hours. Payment is usually cash-first, with card or UPI sometimes available at the booth, so carry small notes in ₹50–₹200 if you’re cutting it close to departure time. Keep the printed ticket dry; a damaged barcode can slow you down at exit.

NITB’s curb gets congested around the morning and late-evening bank of flights, especially during the 06:00–09:00 and 20:00–23:00 waves, and traffic police often push cars quickly off the departure lane. Using the Airport Parking Lot for pickups during those peaks gives you a calmer 5-minute walk instead of looping the one-way road multiple times. Tip: take a quick photo of the nearest row marker or light pole number as soon as you park; it saves hunting for the car in a crowded surface lot when you land back in Pune.
