P2 Terminal

Uncovered

P2 sits next to T1, and you pay for that walk

P2 Terminal is the uncovered official car park directly by T1 at Falcone–Borsellino Airport, sold on Parclick as the “terminal access” option. You park on open asphalt, roll your bag a short distance, and you’re inside the terminal in a couple of minutes. The tradeoff: the daily rate runs noticeably higher than the independent shuttle lots clustered around PMO’s access road.

This is short‑stay territory: forum regulars say terminal‑adjacent parking like P2 only makes sense for one or two days, or when you’re juggling heavy luggage and don’t want a shuttle ride. For a week‑long holiday out of Palermo, drivers on Flyertalk and Reddit consistently shift to off‑airport car parks that run 5–10 minute shuttles and undercut the airport’s daily pricing by a solid margin.

P2 Terminal is uncovered, so your car sits in direct Sicilian sun that easily hits 30°C and above in July and August. There’s no height restriction here, which helps if you’re in a taller rental, but there’s also no shade structure, no EV chargers mentioned in current listings, and no promise of covered protection from occasional coastal rain squalls sweeping across Punta Raisi.

Reviews on Parclick call out the official PMO car park’s higher pricing compared with nearby private lots, using it mainly when dropping a hire car and heading straight into a Ryanair or ITA Airways departure out of T1. Some travelers even joke about “Mafia organised parking,” a pointed way of saying they feel the airport is extracting a premium for being meters from the check‑in desks.

Tip: if your trip runs more than 48–72 hours, price out at least one off‑airport shuttle lot before defaulting to P2 Terminal; the savings over a 7‑day stay can easily cover a decent Palermo dinner for two.
