EV Charging Stations

EVs basically don’t exist at PLS right now

Trip reports from 2023–2024 on FlyerTalk and TripAdvisor line up on one point: Providenciales International Airport (PLS) has taxis and gas rentals only, with no mentioned EV charging stations next to the main terminal. The airport car park is small and simple; nothing in maps, signage photos, or forum posts shows designated EV bays or chargers.

FlyerTalk’s long-running PLS guide lists taxis and standard rental cars as the way off the island, and not a single poster talks about electric rentals or plugging in at the airport. That fits the broader Turks & Caicos setup, where gas-powered vehicles dominate the roads and EV infrastructure barely shows up in local discussions.

TripAdvisor airport threads that get into ATM locations, Wi‑Fi, and taxi prices are also silent on EV charging. There are no complaints about broken chargers or blocked EV bays, which usually means the hardware just isn’t there yet, not that it’s hidden or hard to access.

Regular visitors on TripAdvisor and regional forums describe landing at PLS and heading straight to pre-booked gas rentals, resort shuttles, or $30–$40 taxis into Grace Bay. Nobody talks about timing a charge session before a flight or hunting for Level 2 plugs in the airport car park.

Practical tip: if you somehow end up on island with an EV in 2024, treat the main PLS terminal car park as parking-only with zero charging and confirm any off-airport charging directly with your hotel or rental company before you fly.
