Flat 20–30 minute rides into Perth CBD with Uber

From all four terminals (T1–T4), Uber gives you a straight shot to most Perth addresses without thinking about timetables or luggage space. Trips to Perth CBD usually run 20–30 minutes depending on traffic on Tonkin Highway, and pricing shifts with demand, so late-night arrivals can be cheaper than the 8:00–9:00 peak. It’s door-to-door and app-based, so no need to handle cash after a long-haul from Dubai or Sydney.

Pickup zones sit in the dedicated rideshare areas near each terminal: outside T1 International arrivals, outside T2 on the forecourt, and in the signed rideshare bays between T3 and T4. Follow the purple or “Rideshare/Uber” signs from baggage claim; it’s a 2–5 minute walk from the belts to the pickup points in all terminals. Call your car only once you’re kerbside, since many drivers cancel if you’re not at the bay within about 3–4 minutes.

Expect base fares to the city to start around the low AUD 30s off-peak, with surges pushing well past AUD 50 during big Optus Stadium events or Friday 17:00–19:00. UberX is the default; UberXL is worth selecting if you have more than 2 large checked bags or 4 people from a T1 or T3 long-haul. The app quotes the price before you confirm, so compare it with the fixed-rate taxi posters you’ll see near arrivals doors at each terminal.

Uber operates 24/7 at PER, but wait times shift a lot by hour and terminal. At T1 and T4, you often see 3–6 cars within 5 minutes during daytime; at T2 and T3 around midnight, waits can stretch to 10–15 minutes. If you land after 23:00, open the app while you’re still at the baggage carousel and watch driver counts before you step outside, so you don’t stand in the wind at 12°C in winter for no reason.

Practical tip: drop a pinned location directly on the signed rideshare bay (not just “Perth Airport”) in the Uber map, and message the driver your exact terminal number (T1, T2, T3, or T4) to cut down on wrong-loop pickups and 5-minute delays.
