Metered taxis line up outside every terminal at PER

Black & White Cabs runs a standard metered taxi service from Perth Airport, with ranks signposted directly outside arrivals at T1, T2, T3 and T4. Cars queue 24/7, so even a 02:30 landing usually finds cabs waiting. You don’t pre-book through an app; you walk to the taxi rank and join the line under the yellow “Taxis” signs.

Fares use the Western Australia regulated meter, starting with a flagfall (around A$4–5) plus a per‑kilometre rate from the airport to your destination. A typical trip from T1 or T2 to Perth CBD takes about 20–25 minutes off‑peak and lands in the A$35–A$50 range, depending on traffic down Tonkin Highway and the Graham Farmer Freeway. Extra charges can apply late at night, on public holidays or for toll roads if your driver uses them.

The Black & White Cabs rank at T1 International sits on the ground level forecourt, a short walk of less than 150 metres from baggage claim doors. At T3/T4 (Qantas), follow signs to the shared taxi rank outside the combined terminal building, again on ground level. Rank marshals appear during busy banked arrivals, especially around evening international waves between 18:00 and 23:00, to direct passengers to cars in order.

Cars take common payment methods: most drivers accept major credit and debit cards through EFTPOS terminals, and all accept Australian dollars in cash. Surcharges of around 1–3% are common on card payments, and you’ll see the fee displayed on the terminal before you tap. You can request a printed receipt from the meter if you need to claim the ride as a work expense.

Black & White Cabs operates standard sedans plus some larger vehicles that can handle extra luggage or up to 5–6 passengers, though the bigger cars aren’t guaranteed at every terminal rank. If you’re carrying oversize gear like surfboards or golf bags from T1, tell the rank attendant so they can move you to an appropriate vehicle rather than loading a small sedan.

To keep things moving when flights bank, have your destination address written down with postcode and suburb name before you reach the front of the queue; showing the driver “123 St Georges Terrace, Perth 6000” on your phone cuts down any back‑and‑forth and gets you rolling faster.
