Rideshare

Perth rideshares sometimes price out high; Ola is the backup.

At Perth Airport, Ola runs alongside Uber and DiDi, and can be a cheaper ride if cars are online when you land. All international flights use T1, and the Ola app pins the same general rideshare pickup areas used by other services: follow signs for "Rideshare" outside T1 arrivals and then match the zone shown in the app. Pricing is dynamic, but many runs into Perth CBD land in the AUD 30–45 band off-peak, similar to UberX and often under standard taxis.

Ola operates 24/7 in Perth, but actual wait times around T1, T2, T3, and T4 swing with driver availability. After collecting bags, open the Ola app before you step out of T1 arrivals; you want a car already nearby before you walk to the pickup point, since it’s a 3–7 minute stroll depending on traffic and which bay your driver gets. If no Ola cars appear within 5 minutes of checking, most locals switch over to Uber or DiDi rather than wait.

From T1 to central Perth, expect roughly 20–30 minutes by Ola in light traffic, and 30–45 minutes in the evening peak along Great Eastern Highway. To Fremantle, you’re looking at 35–55 minutes depending on the Leach Highway run. The app quotes an estimate before you confirm; watch the “upfront fare” and compare it against the Perth Airport taxi rank board, which posts typical CBD fares in the AUD 45–55 range including the airport surcharge.

Each terminal has a specific rideshare pickup lane: T1 International and T2 Domestic share one forecourt, while T3 and T4 sit together on the opposite side of the airfield with their own rideshare zone. The Ola app shows the exact bay number once a driver accepts. Screenshot or memorize the bay, because the forecourt signs can be small and your driver only waits a few minutes before cancelling and charging a no‑show fee.

Tip: if you land, open Ola at T1 and see no cars within 10 minutes, don’t hang around; walk toward the rideshare area while checking Uber and DiDi so you keep options open and avoid a second loop of the forecourt.
