Red Rooster

T2

T2’s Red Rooster is your quickest hot meal on the domestic side

In Perth’s Terminal T2, Red Rooster sits airside near the main gate cluster and runs through standard flight banks, so you can usually get chicken and chips from early morning until late evening. It’s a straight fast-food setup: order at the counter, wait a few minutes, grab your tray or takeaway bag, and head back to the seating near the regional gates serving airlines like Virgin Australia and Alliance.

Pricing tracks with Australian high-street outlets, so expect to pay around AUD 12–18 for a burger or quarter-chicken combo with chips and a drink. The menu covers the usual Red Rooster basics: roast chicken, fried chicken pieces, burgers, wraps, and kids’ packs. If you only have 20–30 minutes before boarding from a nearby T2 gate, stick to burgers, nuggets, or a wrap; roast chicken meals can take a little longer when there’s a queue.

Order the classic roast quarter chicken with chips and gravy if you want something filling that still feels like “real food” before a 3–4 hour domestic leg across Western Australia. For a fast handheld option you can eat at the gate, the Rippa or similar chicken burger combo works better than juggling a full box of roast chicken and sides. Drinks are the usual soft drinks and bottled water, not bar service, so plan on grabbing coffee or alcohol elsewhere in PER, for example over in T1’s larger food court.

Service times in T2 can spike when multiple regional flights depart within 45 minutes, especially in the early morning rush, so factor in at least 15 minutes between ordering and walking back to a gate like 208 or 210. One practical tip: check your boarding time, then order to takeaway and eat at the gate, so you can move as soon as boarding is called without hunting for a bin or a free table in the T2 food area.
