Red Rooster

T1

Under $15 gets you chicken and chips in T1

Red Rooster sits airside in Perth’s T1, handy if you’re near the main international gates and just want something familiar before boarding. It’s standard Aussie fast food: fried or roast chicken, burgers, and chips, usually turning orders around in under 10 minutes outside of peak evening departures.

A typical combo meal (chicken burger, chips, drink) runs around $12–$16 AUD, and snack boxes land closer to $8–$10. Portions are decent by airport standards, easily enough for a quick pre-flight meal without feeling overstuffed before a long-haul out of Perth.

Menu standouts are the classic chicken roll, the fried chicken pieces, and the thick-cut chips with chicken salt. If you’re short on time before a late-night T1 departure, grab a pre-made wrap or burger from the warmer instead of waiting on a cooked-to-order box.

Opening hours usually track the international bank: early morning departures through late-night flights, roughly aligning to the first and last T1 movements. It’s not a 24-hour counter, so for a 02:00 red-eye check your options earlier in the night or aim to eat before midnight.

Lines build around the 18:00–22:00 departure wave when multiple wide-bodies leave T1. In that window, expect 10–15 minutes from joining the queue to getting food. Outside peak, it’s often closer to five minutes, so this is a workable stop even on a 45-minute connection within T1.

One practical tip: ask for sauce and napkins at the counter when you pay; they’re not always tossed in automatically, and it’s easier than trying to dig them out of your bag once you’re seated at the T1 gate area benches.
