T1’s Hungry Jack’s is your quickest hot meal before late-night departures
In Perth’s T1 international terminal, Hungry Jack’s sits airside after security, so you can eat within sight of most long-haul gates. It runs long hours aligned with overnight flights, so burgers and fries are still available when smaller cafes in T1 shut. Expect the standard Australian menu: Whopper meals, plant-based options, chicken burgers, and sides like onion rings and nuggets.
Prices run typical airport-fast-food: a Whopper value meal lands in the mid-teens AUD once you add a drink and fries. Kids’ meals keep things slightly cheaper if you just need a small portion at T1. Soft drink refills aren’t bottomless like in some US chains, so size up if you plan to sit for a while. Card payment is the norm; keep a backup card in case an overseas issuer blocks a first tap.
Food timing is predictable for a terminal burger chain: most orders at T1 come out in about 5–10 minutes, but queues can spike just before big departures to Asia and the Middle East. To keep it simple, stick to core items like the Whopper or Bacon Deluxe; customising heavily can slow things down when the terminal is busy. Coffee here is serviceable, but T1 has better espresso at standalone cafes if that matters.
Seating around Hungry Jack’s in T1 can be tight when multiple widebody flights leave within an hour, so you may end up taking your tray back towards your gate. The upside: fries and burgers travel fine for the short walk along T1’s central concourse. If your boarding pass shows a bus gate, build in an extra 10 minutes so you’re not juggling hot food on the stairs.
Tip: if your flight from T1 departs after 22:00, eat here before you head to a quieter gate area, as some nearby outlets close earlier than Hungry Jack’s.
