Guardian

Near Gate info boards in T1, Guardian saves forgotten toiletries

Guardian sits airside in Terminal 1 at Penang International Airport, just past security and near the main departure information boards. It’s a standard Malaysian Guardian pharmacy setup, so prices are close to city branches rather than tourist-gouge levels. Think RM5–RM15 for basic travel-size shampoo, toothpaste, or soap, and around RM20–RM40 for simple skincare.

The shop runs long hours in T1, typically opening early morning before the first wave of departures and staying open until the last evening flights. You’ll see the usual Guardian mix: Panadol, motion-sickness tablets, plasters, hand sanitizer, tissues, and wet wipes all in one compact space. Helpful if your hotel in George Town didn’t have what you needed or you packed in a rush.

You can also grab basics like sunscreen and mosquito repellent here, which makes sense for beach runs to Batu Ferringhi or outdoor time in Penang’s heat. Small cosmetic items, lip balm, and simple makeup from local and regional brands sit in the RM15–RM50 range. Snacks and bottled drinks sit closer to standard airport pricing but still less than many standalone convenience kiosks in T1.

Last tip: if you land and realize you forgot medication or toiletries, remember this Guardian is post-security in T1, so you’ll only hit it on departure, not on arrival. Stock up before clearing immigration if you need something immediately after landing.
