International Terminal

International Terminal hosts 8 airlines.

Gate 1 is your reference point in the International Terminal

The International Terminal (code INTL) at Toussaint Louverture International Airport handles all non-domestic flights, including Air France, American, Copa, Delta, JetBlue, Spirit, Air Caraïbes, and Sunrise Airways. Most check-in counters for these airlines line up in one main hall on the ground floor, with security and departures up one level. If you land from abroad and connect to a domestic flight, you move from INTL to the DOM terminal and deal with a separate security check.

Plan 30–45 minutes from curb to gate at busy times

Security for the International Terminal sits just past the main airline check-in zone and can back up around morning banks for flights to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and New York with American, JetBlue, Delta, and Spirit. With no TSA PreCheck or CLEAR equivalents in PAP, every passenger goes through the same lanes. Build in at least 30 minutes for security alone if you are on an early flight to the US or France.

All international departures use the same concourse

After security, the International Terminal opens into a single departures area, so Air France flights to Paris, Copa flights to Panama City, and regional Sunrise Airways services all leave from nearby gates. Walking time from the first to the last gate usually runs under 10 minutes at an average pace. Seating near the higher-numbered gates often fills first before bank departures to the US and Europe.

Assume limited food options once you clear security

Current public listings show no specific brand-name restaurants or bars mapped inside the International Terminal, and many travelers report only small snack and drink counters past security. With that in mind, eat a proper meal in Port-au-Prince before heading to PAP, or at least bring something from outside the airport. Prices on soft drinks and simple snacks inside tend to run higher than in town, with a noticeable markup compared to supermarket levels.

Shopping is basic, focused on last-minute needs

Official information does not list major retail brands in the International Terminal, and on-the-ground reports mention mostly small outlets selling souvenirs, basic travel items, and duty-free staples like liquor and cigarettes. Product choice is thinner than at larger Caribbean hubs such as Panama City (PTY) or Miami (MIA). If you rely on airport shopping for specific electronics or cosmetics, buy before you reach PAP or plan to shop at your connection point instead.

Lounges are scarce, so bring your own comfort

No airline-branded or independent lounges are formally catalogued for the International Terminal, even for major carriers like Air France, American Airlines, or Delta. That means no Priority Pass, no Sky Club, and no Centurion Lounge options at PAP INTL as of the latest data. Pack your own basics: a power bank, downloaded entertainment for at least 2–3 hours, and a light jacket in case terminal air conditioning runs cold or hot against expectations.

Ground transfers between INTL and DOM stay short

The International Terminal (INTL) and the domestic terminal (DOM) sit on the same airport property at PAP, close enough that walking between them usually takes under 10 minutes. If you arrive on JetBlue, Spirit, or Air France and connect onward on a domestic Sunrise Airways flight from DOM, you still pass immigration, collect bags, clear customs, and then re-check at the DOM side. Build at least 90 minutes between an international arrival and a domestic departure to avoid stress.

One practical move: arrive earlier than you do at US hubs

Given limited documented amenities, a single departures concourse, and security that can stretch beyond 30 minutes during morning and afternoon peaks for American, Delta, JetBlue, and Spirit departures, treat PAP INTL like a smaller, slower-moving airport. Aim to reach the check-in hall 2.5–3 hours before international flights so you clear formalities without rushing, especially before long-haul services like Air France to Paris.
