WHSmith

Gate-side at OSL T, WHSmith is your last-minute grab spot

Just past security in Terminal T, WHSmith sits in the main departures retail strip and runs from early morning into late evening, matching most long-haul bank times. It’s the standard UK-style newsagent: magazines, paperbacks, snacks, drinks, and basic travel gear in one tight footprint. Think 30 seconds off your path to the gates, not a detour across the terminal.

Pricing runs higher than downtown Oslo: a 0.5L soft drink can hit around NOK 40–45, and grab-and-go sandwiches often land near NOK 60–70. You pay for airport convenience and fast self-service. Card and contactless payments are the norm; cash still works but slows things down when there’s a departure wave.

Food-wise, this isn’t a meal stop. Expect packaged pastries, crisps, and candy bars, plus bottled water and energy drinks stacked in the coolers. If you want a real hot meal, head to one of the cafés or restaurants near the main T concourse; treat WHSmith as a backup for something to crunch on mid-flight.

Books and magazines lean heavily English-language, with the usual crime, thrillers, and travel reads, plus a few Norwegian titles. You’ll also see chargers, basic headphones, neck pillows, and travel-sized toiletries on the racks. It’s where you fix a forgotten charging cable 15 minutes before boarding.

Tip: hit WHSmith before you walk to the far gates; selection and stock are better near the central T area than at the smaller outposts closer to boarding doors.
