Duty Free

Gate area in T means you almost can’t miss Duty Free at OSL.

This is the big walk-through shop you hit right after security in Terminal T, selling liquor, cosmetics, snacks and gifts under the standard Norwegian duty-free rules. Shelves lean heavily on Scandinavian brands: aquavit, local gin, Norwegian chocolate and skincare lines you rarely see outside the region. Prices on spirits typically run noticeably below downtown Oslo, especially on 1L bottles, with promos stacked near the entrance during busy bank times.

Hours track the main departure bank, roughly from early-morning departures around 05:00 until the last evening flights, and the shop sits airside so you need a boarding pass to get in. Look for clear signage to “Duty Free” right after passport control if you’re heading non-Schengen, or follow the main passenger flow post-security for Schengen departures. Cigarettes and snus live in a separate section at the back with prominent quota reminders.

Best buys: 1L whisky, local aquavit, and multi-pack chocolate bars that beat landside supermarket pricing by several euros equivalent. Cosmetics are more hit-or-miss; some mainstream brands match EU high-street prices, others are only slightly cheaper than in Oslo city. Pre-packed gift boxes with Norwegian candy or coffee run in the 99–249 NOK range and work as last-minute presents when your layover is under 40 minutes.

Quick tip: grab liquids here after security and keep the sealed bag and receipt handy if you’re connecting on another flight within 24 hours, especially if that next leg leaves from another EU/EEA airport that may re-scan your carry-on.
