Accessible Parking

Blue-marked spaces sit directly next to Nuremberg T1

Accessible Parking at Nuremberg Airport sits immediately beside Terminal T1, so you roll from car to check-in in just a few minutes. The spaces are clearly marked with the blue wheelchair symbol and are set up for passengers with reduced mobility and drivers carrying disabled passengers. You park on the same level as terminal access, which cuts out lifts and long ramps right before a flight.

Because this parking is right next to the terminal, drop-off and pick-up feel more like a short curbside stop than long-term parking. You can unload mobility aids, medical equipment, or extra bags directly onto the sidewalk by T1 and then move the car a few metres into a marked space. That setup helps if you need extra time to get someone from the car into the terminal without worrying about long walking distances.

Nuremberg Airport typically aligns Accessible Parking pricing with its closest terminal car parks, so expect higher rates than the outer lots but a big time save versus a 10–15 minute walk from remote parking. The area is monitored as part of the main airport car park system, and lighting around T1 stays on through late-night departures and early-morning flights. It’s especially useful for first wave departures around 06:00 when public transport can be patchy.

Plan to arrive at least 2 hours before a Schengen flight and 3 hours before non-Schengen, then add 10 extra minutes to sort parking and any assistance requests. Bring your disabled parking permit and keep it visible behind the windscreen; staff may check it when patrolling the T1-side spaces. One tip: photograph your car and the nearest “Terminal 1” sign so the return walk from arrivals stays straightforward, even after a late evening landing.
