150–200 meters from T1, P5 is the true “close-in” lot
P5 sits directly in front of Nantes Atlantique’s T1 terminal, a short walk of roughly 150–200 meters to the departures hall. It’s a ground-level, open-air surface car park, so no ramps or tight turns. If you’re dropping a family at T1 or hauling checked bags for a week, the walking distance matters more here than fancy structure parking.
This is official airport parking managed by NTE, so you pay airport rates, not off-site shuttle prices. P5 typically prices above the remote car parks like P3 or P4, reflecting that closer walk to T1. It works best when you’re leaving the car for a couple of days rather than a long multi-week stay where cheaper remote options start to beat it badly on cost.
Access is off the main airport access road signed clearly for “P5” and “Terminal 1,” with entry barriers using ticket or plate recognition depending on what you booked. Being surface parking, spaces fit normal European cars and SUVs, but extra-long vans or motorhomes may be better off in the more flexible long‑stay zones like P4. There’s no height restriction bar here, unlike some multi‑storey setups.
Security is basic but present, with fenced boundaries and regular patrols shared with the other official NTE car parks. Lighting columns cover most rows after dark, which helps if your return flight lands late from Paris or Lyon. There are marked pedestrian routes from P5 to T1’s main entrance, so you’re not walking in live traffic lanes the whole way.
There’s no shuttle from P5 because T1 is so close, and there’s no dedicated EV charging row listed here yet, so plan charging in the city if you run an electric. Book P5 online in advance on peak days like July and August school holidays; this lot can fill before the outer car parks do.
