P4

Close-in surface parking

Two-minute walk from T1, P4 is the true close-in lot

P4 sits directly in front of Terminal 1 at Nantes Atlantique, a short walk of roughly 2–3 minutes to the main departures doors. It’s a surface car park, so no ramps or tight pillars, just standard outdoor bays on flat ground. This is the lot people use when they want to park the car and be at check-in in under five minutes total.

This is an official airport car park, signed as “P4” on the access road to NTE and marked for Terminal 1. Being close-in, day rates here run higher than the remote lots like P5 or long-stay options farther from T1. If you’re flying at peak times, P4 can fill quickly, so booking online a few days ahead usually locks in a lower price than drive-up.

P4 works well for short trips of 1–3 days out of Nantes, especially for early morning departures from T1 when buses from distant lots are less appealing. Entry and exit use standard ticket barriers; you take a ticket on arrival and pay at the machines near the pedestrian paths back to the terminal before driving out. Keep the ticket handy in the car so you’re not digging through bags at 06:00.

This is an uncovered surface park, so cars sit fully exposed to the weather coming off the Atlantic, including strong sun on summer days and rain in winter. Spaces are regular width, not extra large, so anything bigger than a standard family SUV may feel tight if the lot is near capacity. There are marked pedestrian routes from P4 to T1 doors, so follow the painted paths rather than cutting between cars in the dark.

Tip: Aim for the rows closest to the terminal-side fence when you enter P4; that usually cuts your walk to the T1 check-in hall to under two minutes with carry-on luggage.
