Sakura Lounge (International)

T2 Open · 07:30‐22:00

Gate-side in T2, Sakura Lounge sits above the main JAL concourse

This Sakura Lounge sits airside in Terminal 2, tied to Japan Airlines international departures and open daily from 07:30 to 22:00, so it covers the morning bank to the late-night transpacific runs. It’s the default JAL option for most long-haul flights out of T2 and usually fits into a normal pre-flight window without stressing about opening times.

The layout spreads across multiple zones with standard armchairs, low tables, and counter seating facing the tarmac over the main T2 international gates. Expect typical Japanese lounge seating density: if you’re flying on a heavy JAL departure wave around 18:00–21:00, it can feel tight, but mid-morning and early afternoon are calmer, especially away from the buffet line.

Food runs on the usual JAL international lounge cycle with a hot buffet and snacks refreshed on regular intervals through the day. You’ll see Japanese curry, rice, and pasta or noodles, plus small plates like edamame and salads, with portion sizes aimed at grazing rather than a full restaurant meal. Coffee machines, soft drinks, beer dispensers, and standard spirits are self-serve, so you can be in and out with a plate and drink in under 10 minutes if your boarding time is close.

Showers are available and sit near the lounge reception area, and staff usually manage them with a simple number card or pager when they’re busy around long-haul departure times after 17:00. If you’re connecting on JAL into Narita before an overnight flight, heading straight to shower check‑in before you eat saves you from waiting while the peak bank clears.

Access ties mainly to Japan Airlines customers in international premium cabins and oneworld status passengers departing from T2, with entry checks handled at the main desk right off the central lounge corridor above the gates. If you’re flying JAL economy but holding oneworld Sapphire or Emerald, this is your main lounge option instead of hunting around for a pay‑per‑use space.

One simple move: aim to arrive at Sakura Lounge 60–90 minutes before your departure from Terminal 2, grab a shower request first if you need it, then find a seat near the windows so you can keep an eye on your actual gate on the board without sprinting down the concourse at T‑25.
