Gate 71 is your landmark for the Cathay Pacific Lounge in T2
The Cathay Pacific Lounge sits airside in Terminal 2 at Narita, past security and immigration, roughly a 5–10 minute walk from the main oneworld carriers’ gates around the 60–70 pier. If you’re flying JAL, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, or another oneworld airline out of T2, this is the lounge you’re aiming for before boarding.
Access follows standard oneworld rules: oneworld Sapphire and Emerald passengers on a same-day oneworld flight, plus business and first class flyers on Cathay Pacific or other oneworld carriers from T2, all get in. Priority Pass on its own doesn’t work here, and same-day boarding from T1 or T3 won’t help because you can’t re-clear security between terminals at Narita.
Hours typically track the Cathay Pacific departure bank, opening a few hours before the first CX flight and closing after the last, often around late evening in the 20:00–22:00 window. If you have a very early morning JAL or Qantas departure from T2, confirm that day’s opening time; the JAL Sakura lounges downstairs may be the only option before 09:00.
Food is compact but higher quality than most generic contract lounges in T2. Expect hot dishes like Japanese curry and rice, noodles, and a small salad bar, rather than a massive buffet. Beers from Japanese brands and basic spirits sit on a self-serve counter, with soft drinks and juices in fridges nearby. Don’t plan on a full restaurant meal here; think solid pre-flight snack and a drink.
Seating runs along large windows, so you get decent apron views of T2’s oneworld traffic, including JAL 787s and occasional Qantas or Cathay widebodies. Power outlets sit between some seats but not all; if you see an open spot with both a side table and a universal socket, take it and charge everything to 100% before boarding.
Showers are limited, so during an evening bank with multiple Cathay and JAL departures, you might face a short wait. Put your name down for a shower as soon as you check in at the desk; a quick 10–15 minute rinse here often beats queuing at the larger JAL Sakura lounges downstairs.
One tip: if your oneworld flight leaves from a low 60s gate like 61 or 62, leave the lounge no later than 25 minutes before boarding time; that walk plus Narita’s frequent pre-boarding document checks can eat more time than you expect.
